NEW - Agency Worker Regulations

New regulations come into effect October 2011

New guidance is available to help employers and the recruitment sector prepare for the introduction of the Agency Workers Regulations later this year. The Regulations implement the EU Agency Workers Directive and come into force in the UK on 1 October 2011. They will give agency workers who complete a 12-week qualifying period in a job the right to the same basic employment and working conditions as if they had been recruited directly by the hirer.

Workplace Temperature

A Christmas Cracker

Children under the age of 16 cannot purchase Christmas Crackers.

This is somehow, according to the Media, the fault of Health and Safety Legislation. The explosive act was passed in 1875, long before the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974, facts please my friends, facts!
